Now Light The Candles, remembering the War, reflecting on Peace
In partnership with Slough Museum and The Curve we mark the 100th anniversary of Armistice and World War One peace & ceasefire with this participatory commemorative exhibition.
Join us at The Curve every Wednesday in November between 4 – 5pm for storytelling and to make a poppy to add to the exhibition.
We are grateful for the additional contribution of fabric poppies from New Langley Community Association.
The exhibition, on the first floor of The Curve, throughout November includes extracts from a diary of a teenager who lived in Slough from 1915 – 1918.
The title of the exhibition Now Light The Candles is the first line of 1918 poem Repression of War Experience by Siegfried Sassoon and we will feature poetry from the period as well as contemporary poetry reflecting on war and peace.
