To celebrate our ten years and say thank you for being part of our story, we will be sharing resources and ideas each month until Autumn 2018
This month celebrates being Kind
Random Acts of Kindness global celebrations week was in February.
With this in mind, we started 2018 with ideas and action for kindness and wellbeing: working with a group of ‘kindness ambassadors’ at The Langley Academy, Slough who set about making their school and communities a friendlier place to be through #crimesofkindness
Art, creativity, kindness and wellbeing are intrinsically linked.
Each week we used a creative approach to design a gesture of kindness – from hand painted message pebbles to homemade sweet treats to positive poetry postcards.
We left our creations as kindness offerings, in random places, throughout school and Slough to unexpectedly brighten someone’s day.
These Random Acts of Kindness offered relief from pressures of life & studies; generated positive social media feedback and the sharing of kindness; and promoted wellbeing amongst students.
The students’ favourite activity was potting and gifting seeds, inspired by storybook ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies and Laura Carlin.
In the continuation of planting kindness, ask us for your own a pack of seeds next time you see us!
