In March '09, Creative Junction were selected by Arts Council England to deliver Create Compete Collaborate (CCC). The programme is a groundbreaking ambition, which aims to ensure that ‘every young person in the South East has the opportunity to participate in a project with another young person from a competitor country between now and 2012.'
CCC will use the inspiration of the 2012 London Games to increase the opportunities for every young person in the region to engage with their peers, internationally, and leave a legacy of young people with broadened horizons, new skills, and enhanced global awareness and connectedness.
The initiative seeks to promote the Olympic values of ‘excellence, respect and friendship', to broaden the international outlook of young people in the region and to encourage in their development the qualities of openness, understanding, enquiry, equality and cooperation.
There are two strands to the initiative.
1. The Community Strand: CCC will discover, connect and champion existing international collaborations for young people
• Website and CCCeCommunity, capturing stories about international collaborations between young people in and out of school settings and offering opportunities for young people* to share ideas and experiences
• A series of regional events for those who work with young people to champion excellent models of practice, to drive the vision forward and to explore new opportunities
• A professional learning programme for creative practitioners to deepen their global awareness and inform their work with young people
2. The Project Strand: CCC will support project partners to imagine, design and deliver new projects, especially for those with least access to opportunity
• Reaching For Gold: A programme to identify and support young entrepreneurs in the south east
• Accentuate projects: A set of projects to ensure opportunities are offered for young disabled people, including:

• Further projects identified with partners in the South East, through regional consultation events
• a genuine collaboration between young people in the from different parts of the(ir) World
• the connection could be described as creative and/or cultural
• young people have a voice in shaping it
• the young people involved can tell us about the benefits of their connection
• the project brings about good memories
• the work has potential to be an example that others could follow
