Creative & Media Convention

The Creative and Media Convention aims to provide an overview of the Creative and Media industry, a context for the delivery of Unit 1 of Level 1 and 2 of the Creative and Media Diploma and networking opportunities between consortia and employer engagement - links with Thames Valley industry partners.


The day event is for young people, school staff and consortia line leads in Slough who are engaged in the delivery of the Creative and Media Diploma from September 2009 and is being held at the West Wing Arts Centre, Slough.


Unit 1 - Learning Aims


• Students will develop an understanding of the creative process - specific to the discipline of the creative practitioner

 

• Students will be able to plan, do, review, as a result of understanding the creative process

 

• Students will understand how the impact of new approaches, materials and technologies have changed the creative world

 

• Students will be able to use creative core language in a knowledgeable manner

 

• Students will be made aware of who the practitioners' audiences are and how they communicate to a variety of audiences/clients

 

• Practitioners will be aware of Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills and how they use these in their professional and personal lives. Through the sessions, practitioners will enable young people to gain a greater understanding of the PLTS
