• What is the role of environment in a 21st Century curriculum?
• How can the outdoors develop our creativity?
• Where are my local resources for outdoor learning?
• Whose practice can we learn from in the Thames Valley?


This conference will bring together teachers, creative practitioners and environmental educators from across the Thames Valley to explore best practice in outdoor learning. The event will examine the role of the outdoors in modern education, share case studies from across the Thames Valley and offer practical creative workshops in an inspiringly beautiful natural setting.


Registration fee £50
(free of charge to Creative Partnerships schools and their partners in Berks, Bucks, Milton Keynes and Oxon)


Location

In Our Element 2009 will take place in the buildings and grounds of the Northmoor Trust in Oxfordshire, OX14 4QZ. Our plenary sessions will take place in the restored ‘Fison Barn', with breakout sessions and workshops making use of the estate's woods and fields. As much of the day as possible will be spent outdoors, so please bring suitable clothing for sunshine or rain.
