Inter-Change

Invitation to Inter-Change 2010 - an international conference for young people in the Thames Valley

Question: How does creative practice make a difference to the lives of young people across the world?

Theme: Shelter

When: Thursday, 18th March 2010, 9.00 - 4.00

Where: Taplow Court, Maidenhead, Berkshire

Who is invited? A group of up to 8 young people, aged 14-18, from your school/organisation, with one adult leader or teacher. The chosen delegates will have shown an interest in and commitment to some aspect(s) of global citizenship, e.g. social justice, environmental sustainability, democratic process, international partnership.

What will happen? Presentations will feature collaborative creative work on the theme of shelter, led by young people from Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. Apart from the opportunity to watch presentations (live, filmed and online) and participate in practical break-out sessions, delegates will discover ways to take ideas back to their own learning communities, in order to develop understanding of global issues through creative and inter-cultural partnerships.

Creative Junction CIC will cover the cost of the conference, but participating schools and organisations are expected to make their own travel arrangements. Lunch and refreshments will be provided free of charge.
