Linda Jane James

Linda is a practising fine artist with a first class degree from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design (now University for the Creative Arts). She has an eclectic and broad ranges of skills in photography, drawing, collage, painting through to mixed media installations. Often using found materials and found situations she uses an awareness of different ways of thinking to help students aged 5-25 develop and become enquirers into what it means to be a creative and independent learner.

Linda works both as creative agent and creative practitioner to primary and secondary schools and feels passionately about using enquiry based processes to explore the world as life-long learners. Her own enquiries and practices focus on questions about environment, architecture, sustainability and social responsibility.

Using her experience as artist in residence in corporate settings and as business consultant across a broad range of industries (she is also a chartered accountant), Linda helps mentor young people aged 14 upwards to develop, through imaginative and creative approaches, an understanding of the workplace and gives guidance on setting up and developing business opportunities.
