Radstock Primary School in Earley are making a presentation at the BETT Education Show on Friday 13th Jan

This Network Project, ‘You Present’ is all about sharing the learning-between teachers and students and about learners sharing what they do best to help others learn.

The Primary schools involved are from Earley in Wokingham: Hawkedon, Hillside, Radstock and Whiteknights. A team of students and teachers will show the progress on their project which aims to:

• involve learners with the learning process

• foster collaboration between learners within and between schools.

• develop a range of ICT based presentational skills

Many decisions affecting the project are made by the student learners involved. The overall decision making body for the project is the Y6 Cluster Council which meet regularly and consists of a teacher and 4 young people from each of the four schools involved. The Cluster Council reps also discuss matters with the individual classes involved. Some matters are voted upon by all of the children using forums on their on-line learning platform.

Each student learner from this Cluster Council will produce presentations on an area of learning of their choice which will then be added to a shared website for others to access and to learn from. The students will decide what presentational skills they need to learn and will work with one or more creative partners and their teacher to become the project mentors. These mentors will then pass on their knowledge within and beyond their school for that particular expertise.
