Network Schools get inspired

Teachers from across a network of primary schools in Reading, met at The Ridgeway Primary School in October for an inspiration and planning session with visual artist Stu Mclellan and explored the use of clay to create tree gargoyles and the use of naturally occurring chalk to create decorate tree markings -all with the potential for developing stories and writing.

Stu is working with one of Creative Junctions’ Network schools programmes led by George Palmer Primary School and supported by the Whitley Excellence Cluster. The ‘Inside Out’ project aims to develop teachers’ confidence and skills in using outside spaces for learning across the curriculum and encourage their pupils to ‘take risks’ and develop their confidence and respect for the local environment.
