Arts Award with Libraries and Museums
In partnership with Slough Library and Slough Museum, Creative Junction has delivered ‘Bronze in a Week’ several times over half term holidays, supporting over 100 young people to achieve Arts Award. Young people have learnt new arts skills, experienced various art forms as participants and audience members and shared their skills and experiences with other participants, arts professionals and public audiences. Young people have taken part in arts activities including music, dance, digital art, storytelling, performance poetry and technical management. In addition to exploring and using the Library and Museum in Slough, they have made visits to local theatres and galleries and to The Story Museum in Oxford.
“It was an intense and lively experience, but very rewarding. Creative Junction were a huge support to us, both in planning the activities and by helping us staff the week.” Audience Development Officer, Slough Libraries
“C had a fabulous time. His confidence has really grown and he loved every minute of the programme. As a working mum it was wonderful that I was able to give him a little freedom but know that he was safe whilst I was at work, and all the time promoting his interest in positive arts activities. Thank you.” Parent
