Sing Up Young Leaders Project
The Young Singing Leaders project is part of the Sing Up national programme, aimed to train young people to become singing leaders and deliver supervised singing activities within their school and /or community.
The project has started with mentorship singing training sessions for young people led by various professional singing leaders and held at the West Wing Arts Centre. Ten young people from Beechwood School and St Joseph's School are taking part in the project and will be leading activities in the near future including showcases, assisting in local choirs and leading a Christmas singing session at a local hospital.
Young people are also working towards a Silver Arts Award to support and accredit their learning.
