The Transformation Fund delivers on commitments made in The Learning Revolution White Paper, published earlier this year, which announced a new approach to improving people's lives and prosperity though learning for pleasure.
Creative Junction in partnership with Slough Borough Council has been awarded the Government's Transformation Fund to support informal adult learning in Slough; connecting together learning for pleasure, self-development and community development.
The aim of the project is to develop a wide range of new learning partnerships that engage learners in a variety of community contexts with professionals from the creative and cultural sector.
Project Objectives:
• to build and develop partnerships that encourage exploration, discovery and creativity and deepen passion for learning
• to encourage partnerships between organisations and individuals that haven't worked together before
• to create opportunities or introduce to existing opportunities to those excluded from mainstream learning
• to develop innovative activities that widen choice for learners
• to enable learners to use new technology
• to allow learners to reflect on and discuss their learning
• to develop and support a cohort of creative professionals that can understand and engage adult learners
• to support the new culture of informal adult learning
• to promote and deliver the principles of the adult learning policy as detailed in the Learning Revolution including the learning pledge and the "open space" movement to partners and beyond
• to explore different methods of recording the progress and achievement of learners undertaking informal adult learning activities
