Barratt Homes Project

Creative Junction and Barratt Homes, one of the UK’s largest house builders, have launched their new school arts learning project and are pleased to announce that Beechwood School and Westgate School have been successful in their applications to join this exciting programme.

The project will inspire and encourage young people from different walks of life to fulfil their potential, through working in partnership with artists to a live business brief and the successful schools were clearly able to articulate what difference and benefit this partnership will bring to their students.

Barratt Homes Artists programme will give young people at Beechwood and Westgate Schools the opportunity to spend four days working with professional visual artists, Gordon Collett and duo Educe to explore the theme ‘Proud to be Slough’.

In response to this, they will create pieces of artwork of which three will be selected to be permanently displayed at Eclipse, Barratt Homes’ new development of contemporary apartments in the heart of Slough.

This project adds to the extensive and varied portfolio of Barratt Homes’ community and schools projects and Creative Junction are delighted to be working in partnership with them.

This partnership was introduced by Slough Arts Development team. The programme was started with a launch event at Beechwood School on Monday 4th April 2011. For more information regarding this project please visit our website
