Create Compete Collaborate

Create Compete Collaborate is an ambition to see every young person in the South East have an opportunity to engage with young people from another country.

With the 2012 games coming to London, Creative Junction are using its inspiration to develop, connect and champion partnerships and opportunities that broaden the international outlook of young people in the region and encourage them to develop their qualities of openness, understanding, enquiry, cooperation and equality

The Create Compete Collaborate ambition is at the forefront of the regional planning strategy for 2012 and is the South East’s principal objective for the London 2012 Games relating to children and young people.

Create Compete Collaborate was initiated by Arts Council England and a small but significant and influential group of stakeholders in acknowledgment that 2012 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring to life the promises that were made about participation, engagement and community and make real the Olympic and Paralympic ambitions around respect, excellence, friendship, courage, determination, inspiration and equality.

We believe that by using the inspiration of the 2012 Games, we can increase the opportunities for every young person in the region to engage with their international peers. We develop, connect and champion partnerships and opportunities that broaden the international outlook of young people in the region and encourage them to develop their qualities of openness, understanding, enquiry, cooperation and equality.

We believe these qualities are important to their future lives and that this work will leave a legacy of young people in the South East and around the world with broadened horizons, new skills, enhanced global awareness and a greater sense of connectedness.

Creative Junction has always understood and championed the importance of young people seeing themselves as global citizens and so we were excited and honoured to be commissioned by Arts Council England to lead on the Create Compete Collaborate ambition.
