Langley Academy in Slough is leading on a Networks Schools Programme, ‘Cabinet of Curiosity’ aimed at developing secondary students as mentors to celebrate museum learning in local primary schools.
Working with Young Leaders as part of the Academy Council the focus will be on engaging local Primary schools in an enquiry based museum learning project in partnership with Slough Museum. Students and staff from Langley Academy will develop a cabinet of curiosities which will remain at each Primary school, helping to build stronger links and encouraging Primary teachers to visit the academy for tours and to also create awareness of Slough Museum and museum learning in the academy.
The project will also provide continuing professional development for both the teachers from Academy and from the network of primary schools.
