St Mark’s School in Hounslow will work with Tiger monkey director Emma Ghafur from November 2011 to January 2012 to create 3 artworks on the theme of ‘world at work’ as part of the SEGRO Young Artists 2011 programme culminating in a group exhibition at the RSA in London.
Twelve gifted and talented students will be working with Tiger Monkey to design, develop and make 3 group artworks from a range of art mediums. This ranges from sculpture to environmentalart, from installations to drawing and fine art. Students will be given the opportunity to explore the theme through practical exploration and experience.
Director Emma Ghafur bring both creative and business mentoring to the programme working in partnership with art teacher Simon Hook, a sculptor and artist himself. Together they hope to raise confidence, innovation and creative learning, as well as raising the profile of arts within an academic school.
