Anne Brown

Anne is part of Creative Junction’s extended team, working as Programme Lead (for Buckinghamshire and Berkshire) on the Network Schools Programme.

She values that special relationship that comes from working alongside teachers and schools as a critical friend and in supporting bespoke partnerships, professional development and training. She maintains an involvement in regional and national dialogue about arts education and creative learning through her work with Creative Junction and with the National Society for Education in Art & Design (NSEAD).

Anne brings with her over 25 years’ experience working in schools and educational settings as an art teacher, head of faculty, Advanced Skills Teacher and leader on arts projects with the Slough Education Action Zone. She has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Art and Design and an MA in Art, Craft & Design Education. She is also a qualified leader of outdoor activities and expeditions and has worked on key initiatives, conferences and events for schools linking the arts and the outdoors. She also draws on a global perspective through her experience on leading educational projects in Albania, Uganda and South Africa.

Up to April 2011 she was the arts & education consultant, championing the value of creative learning, including the development of the Creative and Media Diploma for Slough’s Borough Council’s Education Service. During this period she was seconded to work part time with Creative Junction, leading on the Creative Partnerships programme in Buckinghamshire and the SEGRO Young Artists programme.

Anne is a qualified SAPERE Philosophy for Children (P4C) Level 2 coach, and specialises in using works of art as a stimulus for the development of creative and critical thinking skills. She is also a practising artist and participates annually in the Artists Open House as part of the Windsor Fringe Festival and has held joint exhibitions in Slough, South Bucks and Oxford.
