Ed Bartram

Ed is a theatre director and educator.  After stints working in journalism and NHS management, he gravitated back to theatre, completing an MA in Applied Theatre at Central School and Drama in 2006.  He has recently set up his own theatre company Waxwing Theatre, which begun life in May 2008 with a critically acclaimed production of Martin Crimp’s No One Sees the Video.

As well as being a Creative Agent, Ed is currently working as a Creative Partner in schools in the Thames Valley and Luton areas.  He believes passionately that a creative education provides wonderful opportunities for all learners, and particularly those who struggle with mainstream structures and approaches.

Play and story creation are at the heart of his educational practice, and he loves the energy and playfulness children and young people bring inside and outside the classroom.  Ed can now experience this at first hand at home, as his first child – Ralph – arrived earlier this year.
